“This is just my personal opinion, but there’s no curse as distorted as love.”
— A quote by Satoru Gojo from “Jujutsu Kaisen”
In schools and workplaces, have you ever noticed someone whose eyes frequently meet yours?
It might just be a coincidence that your eyes meet, but it’s also possible to predict that you could start developing feelings for someone with whom you frequently make eye contact.
“You know, we keep making eye contact,” you might think. “Could it be that this person likes me?”
As you ponder this, you may find yourself developing feelings for that person. It might seem unlikely to develop romantic feelings for someone just because you keep making eye contact, especially if they’re not your type, but research has shown this tendency to be true.
An interesting study was conducted by Joan Kellerman at the New England Square Phobia Treatment Research Center. She gathered people who did not know each other and created 48 pairs of opposite-sex individuals. The pairs were formed randomly, without considering their preferences.
Kellerman then instructed several pairs to stare into each other’s eyes for two minutes. After the two minutes were up, she measured how much affection each person felt towards their partner.
The results showed that pairs who had been instructed to make eye contact felt significantly more affection towards each other compared to those who did not have this instruction.
Staring into someone’s eyes seems to naturally foster feelings of affection. If you have a crush, it might be worth trying to make eye contact with that person.
Women and Clothing Choices:
Women sometimes find themselves inclined to wear more revealing clothes without even realizing it. This tendency is often linked to their most fertile periods.
Christina Duran from the University of Texas conducted a study with 88 female college students, asking them to wear different types of clothing during their most fertile and least fertile times. The results showed the following:
-
Fertile times: 320 square millimeters of skin exposed
-
Non-fertile times: 260 square millimeters of skin exposed
From these results, it can be inferred that women are more likely to wear sexy, revealing clothes when they are most fertile. The reason behind this behavior is to attract male attention, giving them an advantage in the competition with other women. During non-fertile times, there’s less point in making such an effort since the chances of conception are lower.
In the animal kingdom, for instance, female primates will exhibit physical changes, like turning parts of their bodies red, to stand out when they are in their fertile periods. Humans, too, are driven by similar instinctive behaviors.
However, it’s important to note that just because a woman is wearing revealing clothes does not necessarily mean she is giving an “OK” sign. Men should be cautious, as women generally want advances from only those they are interested in.
Men should be aware of this distinction and not misinterpret women’s actions.
